Boardmix came as a fresh air in my pursuit of a more effective digital tool for real-time board team collaboration. With its strong focus on synchronous feedback and an optimized user-interface, it immediately grabbed my attention.

Overview: Features of Two Platforms

Miro: Sleek Simplicity & Focus

  • Focused Workspace

One of the core features of Miro is its emphasis on creating a clutter-free, focused workspace. By simplifying its user interface and features, it removes my distractions allowing users to concentrate solely on their tasks. This has been an asset for my team, minimizing cognitive overload and enhancing productivity.

  • Structured Layout

Miro promotes a structured approach to organizing thoughts and tasks. Its design is systematic, which benefited me and my team by reducing chaos and maintaining order in our workspace.

    • Screen Sharing and Presentation Mode

Miro's screen-sharing feature and the presentation mode are handy during team meetings, facilitating efficient knowledge transfer and idea presentation. It eliminates the need for multiple tools for presenting and brainstorming.

    Boardmix: Comprehensive & Cost-effective

Boardmix real-time board also offers a virtually infinite canvas, promoting unlimited brainstorming and expansive project planning. It's perfect for expansive mind maps and conceptual diagrams. This feature proved beneficial for hosting our larger project blueprints without limitations of space. Therefore, I personally think Boardmix is a qualified replacement and even excels Miro in certain aspects.

    • Custom Templates

     experiencecustomizetemplate.png

Boardmix offers a wide range of pre-built templates, enabling quick initiations of common tasks like SWOT analysis, user story mapping, or sprint planning. I found this feature highly efficient during project kick-off meetings, where we could promptly get started using one of the available templates.

    • AI Assistant

     experienceaiassistance.png

This is what attracts me most. The AI function of Boardmix is smarter and more comprehensive than what Miro offers. Boardmix's AI assistant can help produce content, images, mind maps and even slides based on the description of my demand. Basic needs like polishing, translation as well as spelling correction are also included.

    • User-Friendly Interface

Boardmix boasts a user-friendly interface with straightforward navigations, allowing even less tech-savvy users like me to use the platform with ease. This feature greatly reduced the onboarding time for our new team members. This is also the reason why I turned to Boardmix.

    • Presentation Mode

One unique feature is Boardmix’s presentation mode, which allowed us to present our ideas directly from the board. It has 2 presentation mode.

Consideration Behind The Switch: Boardmix vs Miro Real-Time board

To understand the reasons behind switching to Boardmix from Miro real-time board, we need to make decision based on our own demand and essential functions provided by these whiteboards.

    •  Fundamental features

Firstly comes basic features. Both offer real-time collaboration and support comments in the same whiteboard, abundant customizable templates and even more comprehensive AI-assistance. These are plus for me when considering changing the whiteboard.

    •  Layout design

Next comes the layout design and user experience. Upon first use, the arrangement of whiteboard in Boardmix allows me to focus better on the tasks at hand. Icons of tools are obvious and easy to access, On top of that, unlike experience with Miro where comments often got overlooked, in Boardmix everyone's updates were instant and noticeable, enabling better teamwork.

    •  Pricing

Considering my budget, Boardmix offers a economic plan for me which better fit into the demand of my team which doesn't require much integrations as is offered by Miro, whereas Miro offers more comprehensive plans with higher price, the Boardmix is a preferable choice for me. By the way, the Lifetime Plan offered by Boardmix is also distinct from plans offered by other platforms even with future upgrades and access to new features.

    •  Customer service

Additionally, Boardmix offers our responsive and helpful customer support team. It really matters for new comers who has any emergencies. The solution offered in time matters for users waiting for immediate answers.

Based on reasons above, I decided to choose Boardmix instead of Miro as my team's collaboration whiteboard.
